What would it look like if characters from 90s cartoons all went to the same high school? The series explores this shared universe, bringing together characters from shows like The Magic School Bus, Doug, Daria, and Beavis and Butt-Head for a single, unified class photo.
Using a neural network (StyleGAN2) and digital compositing, each character was aged up or down to be interpreted as a life-like graduate. The process also required creative interpretation to fill in details ambiguous in the source material. Since many characters lacked last names, they were researched or invented; for example, Beavis is presented as ‘Bobby Beavis,’ inspired by a real-life childhood neighbor of series creator Mike Judge.
