After a few keystrokes, Mr. Voshart has placed me outside of the virtual, still-unbuilt home of Jean-Michel Lemieux, senior vice-president of engineering at Ottawa-based Shopify.

The VR walkthrough, built in Unreal Engine for architectural firm Linebox Studio, allowed the client to evaluate sightlines, and understand the scale of rooms with their furniture and artwork long before breaking ground. The process helps prevent misunderstandings and costly changes during the construction phase.
