RockyNoHands Documentary

A viral documentary on the life of a record-breaking quadriplegic gamer.

In 2017, I was the cinematographer for RockyNoHands: The Gamer Who Can Beat You With His Mouth, a micro-documentary profiling Rocky Stoutenburgh. The short film became a viral hit, garnering over 3 million views.

The documentary tells the story of how Rocky, after an accident that left him a quadriplegic, re-engaged with his passion for video games using a mouth-operated joystick called a QuadStick. The film blends personal interviews with gameplay, showcasing his incredible skill in competitive games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), where he had to defeat 99 other players in real-time to win a match.

At the time of filming, Rocky was a rising star in the gaming community. He has since gone on to a career as a professional streamer and became a two-time Guinness World Record holder. This documentary was the first to profile his inspirational journey.
